- Joining – With Citi PremierMiles Card, you earn 10,000 Miles worth Rs. 1,500 on your very first spend of minimum Rs. 1,000 or above, if the purchase is made within 60 days of card activation in return of Rs. 3,000 joining fee.
- Renewal – You also get 3,000 Miles worth Rs. 450 on your card renewal from 2nd year and onwards against the renewal charges of Rs.3000.
- Rewards – On spending each Rs. 100 at PremierMiles Online Portal for booking flight tickets and hotels, you earn up to 10 Miles. You also earn 10 Miles per Rs. 100 when you made transactions on any airline across the globe or partner brands. However, the eligible transaction for these benefits is the ones that are made only through an online portal of an airline company, at airport counters, and the PremierMiles website. If you’re enrolled in Frequent Flyer Program (FFP) with any airline then you also earn your regular FFP Miles on flying as offered by the airline.
- Apart from it, you earn 4 Miles on each Rs.100 that you spent on any kind of regular transaction made on the card. Hence, Citi PremierMiles Card comes gives you a benefit of a minimum of Rs. 0.60 to maximum Rs. 1.50 on each Rs. 100 spent, depending upon the transaction you made.
- Fuel Surcharge Waiver – Apart from the regular transaction you made on the card, you also get a surcharge on fuel transactions equal to the 1% of the transaction value waived off, only if the transaction is made at Indian Oil Petrol pumps through Citibank EDCs. The minimum amount of Rs. 10 is waived off against a single transaction.
- Airport Lounge Access – At select domestic airports, you get 6 complimentary access to MasterCard Lounges per calendar quarter and valid till Dec 31st, 2018 on the primary card. If you’re a visa cardholder, then you get 8 complimentary access to VISA airport lounges and valid till Sept 30th, 2018 on the primary card.
- Cashback – Get up to 15% discount on dining at participating hotels and restaurants such as The Lalit, Shangri La, Blanco, etc.
Drawbacks
- If you’re a first-time Citibank Credit Card customer, then the applicable interest rate would be equal to 39% per annum rather than 37.20% per annum what is offered to an existing/old Citibank credit card user.
- On Joining, Citi PremierMiles Card gives you the benefit of Rs. 1500 against Rs. 4,000 which includes a Joining fee of Rs. 3,000 and the conditional transaction of Rs. 1,000 that you have to make in order to be eligible for the welcome reward points. On Renewal, PremierMiles Card gives you the benefit of only Rs. 450 against the renewal fee of Rs. 3,000.
Conclusion
All and all, Citi PremierMiles can be a good choice for you if travel through airlines usually since you can easily transfer your earned miles to the partner’s miles. However, you need to be a very smart credit card used to get the benefits from this card.
But if you’re going to apply for your first-ever credit card then it can be a bad choice for you.
